The unconvential ski holiday company
About Powder Pines Travel
My Story
I grew up in Cheltenham, in the Cotswolds, playing every sport I could and spending as much time outdoors as possible. As a teenager I discovered skiing, and it quickly became the thread that tied together my love of challenge, nature and travel.
In 2013 I moved to Whistler, Canada, where I trained and worked as a ski instructor for several seasons. Those years taught me more than technique. I learned how to read the mountain, look after people in changing conditions and share the joy that a great day on snow can bring. I promised myself I’d never work behind a desk, but if I did, it would have to be a desk that kept me close to the mountains.
Today, that is exactly what I do. I’m the owner and director of Powder Pines Travel, and I design tailor‑made ski holidays that fit real lives. Some trips are classic weeks in a chalet or hotel. Others are flexible short ski breaks of three to five nights, often combined with a city or regional stay for food, wine and culture. I build bespoke ski itineraries around your dates, your pace and what you love—whether that’s quiet, first lifts and long lunches, or maximising time on snow with a smooth city add‑on.
Over more than ten years in luxury travel, I’ve helped clients find the right resorts, the right guides and the right moments: mountain restaurants worth lingering over, rail journeys with views that stay with you and little touches that make everything feel effortless. My approach is simple: listen first, be honest, and craft the trip as if I were taking it myself.
People sometimes tell me ski holidays have to run Saturday to Saturday. I don’t believe that. Unconventional, flexible ski breaks—and city‑and‑ski combinations—can deliver better value, less fatigue and more memorable travel. That philosophy sits at the heart of Powder Pines Travel.
I may now work at a desk, but it’s a desk that connects people to the mountains I fell in love with. I’m still smiling as widely as I did in Whistler in 2013—just with a few more stamps in the passport and a deeper sense of what makes a trip truly special.
If you’d like to talk through ideas for your next ski holiday, I’d love to help.
